This is what I've been reading these days:
Reason for not getting a job:

Sure, having some money to start your own business wouldn't hurt.
Maybe these clients are also part of the reason the previous guy doesn't want a job.

I'm thinking of starting a new game as a hobby. Too bad Starcraft 2 is launching on july 27, in digital format also, yay (http://eu.battle.neten/info/digital-purchase)... Basically it will fill up any free time for at least a month or so :-) . I'm still not sure about the genre. Maybe a Bomberman clone?
Atomic Bomberman didn't get a proper sequel on the PC at least... or if it did, I didn't receive the notifice. I looked around searching for any 3D open source versions.
I tried out Atominsa: http://sourceforge.net/projects/atominsa/files/
It has many of the same features
Youtube knows of a java version though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNdWiUfhIZA&feature=related
The graphics from this classic Bomberman remake do look nicer though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIGoCqcsqyU&feature=related
But I think this time I would like to collaborate on the game, instead of writing the code, doing the 3D modeling, 2D GUI, the textures, sounds, installer and every other little effin' aspect of the game by myself.
